Coming Home Shouldn’t Be a Privilege
This campaign is part of the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, raising funds to support people experiencing homelessness across Australia.
At Riot + Bloom, everything we create is anchored in the idea of home. Not just a place, but a sense of safety, belonging, and being met as you are.
For many people, that’s not something they’ve ever had, or something they’ve lost.
Why this matters
Homelessness is not what you think it is. It takes many forms, and most people never expected to find themselves there. Often, we don’t recognise how many people around us are living this reality.
In Australia, over 122,000 people are experiencing homelessness on any given night. This includes families, children, older women, and people who are working but unable to secure stable housing.
Homelessness does not always look like sleeping on the street.
It can look like staying in a motel, a hostel, or a short-term rental with no fixed address. It can look like moving between temporary places, never knowing how long you can stay. It can look like losing the stability that allows everything else in life to function.
At its core, homelessness is not just the absence of housing.
It is the loss of safety. The loss of stability. The loss of somewhere to return to.
How to get involved
There are a few ways to be part of this:
-
Donate
-
Share the campaign
-
Follow along and stay connected
Over the coming weeks, Riot + Bloom will also be sharing:
-
Reflections and writing through Bloom Unfiltered

Selected campaign-linked merchandise
All connected to the same intention: making the idea of “home” something more people can access, in whatever way that looks like for them.
